However, I’m not stupid (shhh Mr.B) and I know if I don’t start wearing boots very soon I will definitely look a tad odd tip-toeing around the puddles. And so, it is time to embrace the beautiful season that is autumn and get my legs leather clad (shhh Mr.B, not how you think!).
Last year’s favourites, and much admired, blue suede boots from Next will see me right for another season, especially as they’ve just been re-heeled and had new non-slip (well, definitely less slippy) soles put on. (Shhh Mr. B - no, I don’t need a bath mat and handles installed in the shower, thank you very much!).

Accidentally on purpose?! Eh?
Let me explain…
My little man, now 10, was starting school and needed sports shorts so we popped, exasperated, to M&S - we’d visited loads of shops already you see. Anyway, I left son and daddy in the car - no point us all traipsing around - and headed straight for the uniform section.
No sports shorts! Aarrgghhhhh! Think I actually said a word containing just 4 letters but I won’t spell it out for you!
So, stompily, I headed straight for the exit. But before I got there, a sixth sense, almost magnetic force, drew my eyes to the knee high boots in the ladies footwear section. In an instant, Robocop stylee, the scanner in my brain, ran an analysis:-
But, excitingly, Next have produced a black version of the blue suede and here they are on my feet! They’re gonna look great with opaque tights, skirts and dresses too – can’t wait!
Oh, and blimey, I nearly forgot these beauties from Office! Not sure how they slipped my mind, given their colour!
I’m wearing them with a matching hat here but as you all know, it didn’t get voted as a keeper, so I've replaced it with a burgundy top that looks great with the boots. And I’m also on the look-out for a patterned scarf with some burgundy in it so it’s easy to incorporate the boots into other outfits.
And lastly, I want to show you these new suede ankle boots that I got from M&S (whilst not looking for any school uniform at all, thankfully).
Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, right? (Shhh Mr. B, of course you can join us – you’re buying the drinks!).
