L Mimer,
I visited Melanie in February for her to ‘do my colours’. She was incredibly professional and explained everything thoroughly during the process. I ended up being a winter, which was a surprise to me. A lot of my clothes tended towards ‘Autumn’ so it was a bit of an adjustment to get used to, but one that has made a big difference to my wardrobe!
I now wear a lot more colour, in fact sitting here writing this I am wearing a yellow top, something I would never have worn in a million years previously! I opted to buy the swatches to help me when I go shopping which helps an awful lot when making choices.
We also went shopping together, and being a curvy girl (a typical apple shape) I’ve always tended to wear ‘tent’ like clothes. Now, following Melanie’s advice I wear a lot more close fitting skirts and trousers to accentuate my good legs, and a vest top and a looser fitting jacket or cardigan to disguise my bulges. One of the biggest tips she gave me was with jewellery, I always wore a little delicate necklace, now it’s the bigger the better. Statement necklaces are the way to go as I now understand that they are the right scale for my body!
I feel a lot more confident when shopping now in knowing what suits me, and I don’t have mistakes gathering dust at the back of the wardrobe! I also get a lot more compliments in how I look and what I’m wearing – which to me says it all!
